About this blog

Why The Park Log?

The Park Log started as a way to record my own travel experiences β€” the trails I walked, the things I wished I'd known before arriving, and the moments that made each trip worthwhile.

Over time it became something more: a planning resource I actually wanted to exist. The official NPS pages are accurate but hard to turn into a real itinerary. I wanted day-by-day plans, honest assessments of difficulty, and practical details β€” all in one place.

Every park guide here is built around real visit planning: route maps, timed itineraries, entrance logistics, and seasonal notes. The goal is to help you spend less time researching and more time actually at the park.
